Tipster or bettor account? How to choose and switch on Tippium

Tipster or bettor account? Pick Bettor if you want to follow tipsters, subscribe to premium picks and get alerts. Pick Tipster if you want to publish your own picks before each event, build a public profile with a verifiable track record and, eventually, sell access to your premium picks. And if you already chose the wrong one when you signed up, you don't need to delete anything: on Tippium you switch the account type yourself from your dashboard, in a couple of clicks, with one condition when going from tipster back to bettor.

This is the question our support inbox sees more than any other. Someone taps the wrong card during sign-up, lands in a dashboard full of publishing tools they never wanted, and assumes the only fix is a fresh account. It isn't. Below you'll find what each account type includes, a quick decision checklist, both switching procedures step by step, and exactly what happens to your picks, subscriptions and profile when you switch.

The two cards at sign-up and what they actually mean

When you open the sign-up page, the first thing you see is "How do you want to start?" and two photo cards. That choice decides which dashboard opens when you log in and which tools you see first. It does not lock you into a role for good.

Bettor

This is the account for people who consume picks. You follow free tipsters, subscribe to the premium picks of the ones you trust, and get every new pick by email, push notification and Telegram. Your dashboard is built around what you follow: subscriptions, followed tipsters, profile and help. You have no public profile and you don't appear in the directory.

Tipster

This is the account for people who publish. You get a public profile, you record every pick before the event starts, and those records add up to a track record anyone can inspect, losers included. You can also sell access to your premium picks and request withdrawals of your income. The odds you see when you create a pick are bet365 odds, so your record is tied to real market prices.

Something many new users miss: a tipster account can also follow and subscribe to other tipsters. Choosing Tipster takes nothing away from what a bettor can do; it adds the publishing side on top.

A quick checklist before you sign up

Be honest with yourself. If most of your ticks land in the first list, you want a bettor account. If the second list sounds like you, go for tipster.

  • I want to see what other people publish and decide for myself whether to copy their picks.
  • I want each pick on my phone or in Telegram the moment it goes out.
  • I have no wish for my own bets to be public or judged by anyone.
  • What I'm really after is comparing track records before paying for a subscription.
  • I want my predictions on record before kick-off, even if only to measure myself.
  • I'm fine with my losing picks being as visible as my winners.
  • I might charge for premium access one day.
  • I can publish with some regularity, because an empty profile convinces nobody.

If you're torn, start as a bettor. Going from bettor to tipster is instant and unconditional, while going the other way has a restriction once money is involved. Starting with the lighter account keeps every door open. If publishing tempts you but you're not sure what it involves, read what a betting tipster actually does and how to become a tipster with a credible record first.

How to switch from bettor to tipster, step by step

This is the easy direction: self-service, instant and with no requirements. There's no prior check and no minimum number of picks.

  1. Log in with your bettor account.
  2. In the bettor dashboard menu, open Profile (your bettor profile).
  3. Find the card "Want to publish your picks?".
  4. Click "Become a tipster".
  5. Read the confirmation and click "Yes, make me a tipster".
  6. The account switches immediately and the publishing tools become available.

Your profile won't show up in the tipster directory until you publish your first pick. That keeps the directory free of empty profiles and gives you time to set your public name, photo and bio before you go live.

What you keep when you become a tipster

Every subscription you had as a bettor stays active, and the tipsters you followed stay on your list. You don't lose access to anything you've already paid for. The publishing side is simply added.

How to switch from tipster to bettor, step by step

This direction is self-service too, but only if your tipster account is financially clean: no subscribers, no income and no withdrawal requests. That's exactly the situation of someone who signed up as a tipster by mistake and never sold anything.

  1. Log in with your tipster account.
  2. Open Settings in the tipster dashboard (/dashboard/settings/).
  3. Select the "Config" tab.
  4. Find the card "Signed up as a tipster by mistake?". For a moment it shows "Checking whether your account can switch…".
  5. If your account qualifies, click "Switch to a bettor account".
  6. Confirm with "Yes, switch to bettor".

From then on you use the bettor dashboard. If you ever want to publish again, follow the first procedure from your profile.

If your account already has subscribers or income

In that case the card doesn't show the switch button. It tells you the account already has subscribers or income and can't be switched there, and offers "Contact support", which takes you to help inside the tipster dashboard. You have two ways forward:

  • Contact support from the dashboard's Help section or the public support page so we can review your case.
  • Create a new bettor account with a different email and keep the tipster account separate.

Why the brake? When subscribers have paid for your picks, or there's income and withdrawals in progress, turning the account into a bettor account would leave other people without the service they bought and leave money movements without a consistent owner. It protects them and you; it isn't a penalty.

What happens to my data, picks and subscriptions

This is what worries people most, so here it is point by point.

Bettor to tipster

  • Subscriptions: stay exactly as they were.
  • Followed tipsters: remain on your list and you keep getting their alerts.
  • Personal data: your email, password and profile details don't change.
  • Public profile: created, but only listed in the directory once you publish.

Tipster to bettor

  • Published picks: kept in storage, not deleted.
  • Public profile: leaves the directory.
  • Publishing: you can't post new picks while you're a bettor.
  • Your own subscriptions to other tipsters: you keep them as a bettor.
  • Going back: you can become a tipster again whenever you like from your profile, with the same "Become a tipster" button.

Common mistakes when choosing an account type

The most frequent one is choosing Tipster because "tipster" sounds like anyone who uses a tipster website. On Tippium, a tipster is the person who publishes. If your plan was to read and copy picks, your card was Bettor.

The second is the reverse: signing up as a bettor intending to publish "later" and assuming you'll need another account. You won't. The "Become a tipster" button exists for exactly that, and your subscriptions come with you.

The third is opening a second account with another email when the switch from the dashboard would have done the job. Two accounts mean two passwords, two streams of alerts and more confusion. Only go the new-account route when your tipster account already has subscribers or income and you'd rather not wait for support.

The fourth, and the most frustrating, is starting to charge as a tipster before you're sure you want to keep publishing. As soon as your first paying subscriber arrives, switching back to bettor is no longer self-service. Before you put a price on premium access, publish in the open for a while and check that the consistency a profile demands suits you.

Which account fits your situation

I just want to try free tipsters: Bettor. Browse the directory, follow whoever interests you and turn on Telegram or push alerts.

I want to pay for a subscription right away: Bettor as well. Paying doesn't require a tipster account.

I bet and want an honest record of my own picks: Tipster. Even if you never charge, publishing before the event forces discipline and leaves a history you can't polish afterwards.

I want to sell my picks: Tipster, no question, because it's the only account that can sell premium access and request withdrawals. Building a decent sample of published picks before charging is wise.

I signed up as a tipster and haven't published anything: switch to bettor from Settings in under a minute.

I signed up as a tipster, someone already subscribed and now I want out: contact support; that isn't a switch you can make on your own.

FAQ: tipster and bettor accounts

Can I have a tipster account and a bettor account at the same time?

You don't need to. A tipster account already lets you follow and subscribe to other tipsters. A second account with a different email only makes sense if your tipster account has subscribers or income and you want your betting activity fully separate.

Does becoming a tipster cost anything or have requirements?

No. Switching from bettor to tipster is immediate and has no requirements.

Are my picks deleted if I switch from tipster to bettor?

No. They're kept in storage. What changes is that your profile leaves the directory and you can't publish new picks until you become a tipster again.

Why can't I see the "Switch to a bettor account" button?

Because your account has subscribers, income or a withdrawal request. In that case the card shows the notice and a "Contact support" button. You might also be looking in the wrong place: the button lives under Settings, "Config" tab, in the tipster dashboard.

Do I lose my subscriptions if I become a tipster?

No. Every subscription you held as a bettor stays in place.

When does my profile appear in the tipster directory?

When you publish your first pick. Until then the account is a tipster account but isn't listed publicly.

Can I switch back and forth several times?

From bettor to tipster, whenever you want. From tipster to bettor, as long as the account has no subscribers, income or withdrawals. Even so, it pays to decide: every time you leave, your profile disappears from the directory.

Still unsure? Check the FAQs or write to support telling us which account type you have and which one you wanted.

Tippium is for adults aged 18 and over. Following or publishing picks does not guarantee profit, and most bettors lose money over time. Only stake what you can afford to lose, set limits, and if gambling stops being fun, reach out to a specialist support service.
